A Delicious Variation on a Manhattan Cocktail Made With Taylor Garrett’s Rum Rye Whiskey

Inspiration
Rum Rye Suburban
Variation on the Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book recipe, update by Evan Rothrock
Rarely does one see a combination of ingredients as curious as the Suburban… Rye lovers gravitate towards a spicy profile for their cocktails. Port is a rare addition to any cocktail, due to a sweetness that’s challenging to balance.
So, the Suburban is something of an “outside shot”. Fitting then, since according to the Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book, the Suburban was created to celebrate the perpetual wins of racehorse enthusiast, James Keene.
