Ski Bunny Cider Cocktail

Made by Suzanne Henricksen

How did I become a Ski Bunny? It was this alpine liqueur cider cocktail. Ok, not really. To be honest, I’m a great ski bunny because I’m not a great skiier or snowboarder. But I love the snow and a lot of my friends love to ski, so I’ve mastered the ski bunny game—if I do say so myself.

Unfortunately, the idea of being a ski bunny is often fraught with sickly sweet beverages like hot toddies, mulled cider, or hot buttered rum. And you know, while sitting by the fire or lounging in a hot tub sometimes you just want a refreshing, crisp drink that makes you feel like you’ve been hitting the slopes all day. And this cider cocktail tastes like winter, yet is still refreshing and fun. Thanks alpine liqueur and Spanish style cider! Perfect for a ski bunny that’s been working hard on her lounging skills all day!

Let’s Get Stirrin’

Serves: 1

Special Tools: None

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

1 ½ oz Townshend’s Alpine Liqueur (sadly, Townshed has closed but Lee’s Spirits makes a tasty variation on this)

4 oz Trowbridge Cider

1 tsp simple syrup

½ oz lemon

Spring of rosemary

Steps
  1. Sugar the rim of a cocktail glass
  2. Add ice and all ingredients into rimmed glass
  3. Stir, add a sprig of rosemary and enjoy!

It’s like being a ski bunny from the comfort of your couch. Cheers 🥂

If you can’t get your hands on Trowbridge to make this cider cocktail, choose a dry, somewhat funky cider. Spanish sidra or another Spanish style cider would be perfect.
